I'm guessing this is why Audi fixed the TT's aerodynamics early in its life. How the hell did this happen?

That look suspiciously like the shape and size of the big green round markers the Germans have by autobahn exits, just before you go into a ludicrously tight exit slip road.

I heard sudden lift-off oversteer at very high (Autobahn) speeds was the main problem. IIRC the mods were a small wing to increase rear downforce and stiffened rear suspension.

That's an American TT. The indicators give it away!
It must have spun into a tree or similar object. Saw something very similar with a 911 turbo. Unfotunately said car broke in two pieces expelling rear seat passengers

AFAIK thats why Audi issued an optional recall modification which included the ESP system, and the rear spoiler, in Autocar there were reviews of several mysterious cases of the back end becoming extremely light, one guys wife broke her back I think...it cost Audi in the region of £36m in the end......
