Number plate change
#1
If I wanted to change my number plate obviously I'd have to change my tax disk, but what about the mot certificate, would the garage who originally did the mot change the reg no. or would I have to get it re-mot'ed, even though it has only been a couple of months??
Or would it be better to keep it on retention 'til the tax and mot are next due??
Cheers,
Gus

I seem to remember taking my MOT with me when getting the plate xfered on to the car, the chap in the DVLC office simply wrote the new plate on the old MOT and signed or stamped it (IIRC)

Just re-assigned two vehicles with new plates and yes the DVLA will stamp the existing MOT Certificate with the new number.
Your new V5 (registration document) will follow in about 4 weeks.
