The latest "get all the driver's money" scheme
#1
Here, on BBC News they are considering a "spy in the sky" system to monitor where we drive and charge us accordingly.
And of course, no doubt the charges would be sufficiently high to pay for the thing It seems that the government doesn't want us to move at all - we are being priced off the roads and priced off the railways.
Now if they took their heads out of their bottoms, they might be able to see that they could use some sort of technology like this to dramatically reduce car crime. Because it could be used as a "Tracker", stolen cars could be located immediately. And because stolen cars can be located so easily, there might even be a reduction in crimes that make use of stolen cars (i.e. as "getaway" cars etc).
