Laser Diffuser - False Alarms??
#1
I only had my laser diffuser fitted last Friday, when it started warning me today of a threat.
I had just come of a clear road, on to a reduced limit when I started hearing bleeping in the cabin. I forgot what it was at first, until I remembered and slowed down before I turned it off.
I looked around and saw a few cars parked but couldn't see anyone with a laser gun before I had to turn off.
Could it have been a false alarm??

No can't be sure. He could have been further up ahead as you say.
I was going to drive back around again after, but thought I would only be attracting attention to myself. I shat myself when it went off thinking have they actually got a reading and I was waiting for them to flag me down like last year when I got caught.

It could have picked up a laser signal that just wasn't a speed trap.
My laser detector goes mental on motorways when passing under bridges with what looks like cameras with IR illuminators positioned over each lane (note, they are NOT SPECS or Traffic Master!). We must be the most observed "citizens" in Europe

Out of interest where did you get your laser detector fitted and how much did it cost?
Mine arrived last week, but I am not confident enough to fit it myself!

Strobe lights from Ambulances and Police Cars set my Laser Echo 850 off as they emit the same frequency as the guns. Useful to know that it is set up correctly though. Nothing else causes a false alarm.
Some Blinder units are prone to leaking and then subsequently false alarms.

Lemmy, I had mine fitted at Auto Audio installations in Stockwell for £140 including VAT etc.
The install looks very neat and the switch is hidden just underneath from the steering wheel.
