Question

I have a PAYG BT Cellnet phone. And like other people on BT (O2) have found it to be awful. Txts don't send, recieve, huge delays, cant get service etc etc etc

So after asking a handful of friends have heard good things about Orange. So can I ask please post below what Network you're on and how you've found it overall. Im considering going Contract if it will help.

Cheers
Richard

Voda for four years. Good coverage overall. Does struggle for signal in large buildings, mainly factorys with metal structure.(how many of them do ya go in?)
Wouldn't go with anyone else.

Well I'd recommend T-Mobile (but I've got a vested interest! )
O2 offer the best value tariffs at the moment but you're unhappy with the service.
Depending on how you want to use your phone could make a difference to the Network I would suggest.
Mail me if you want some more in-depth info.

Question

BTTT for the weekday workers

Jaycee does the actual handset (if working correctly) have any bias on coverage. I.e. can the transmitter mast sometimes find it hard to locate? Or am I talking bobbins

Unhappy

I have 3 at the moment I hated 02 so much that I went out to get an orange instead and that seems really good . My work phone is vodafone and they dont seem too bad but the reception can get dodgey. I have had dealings with cellnet and 02 and all I can say is NEVER again they are the biggest bunch of ***** I have ever had to deal with firstly they sold me a **** phone (7110) then refused to do anything about it so I disconnected then I reconnect to Genie on an unlimited text tarrif and when they went to 02 they took that away from me I told them to stuff it when I could get hold of them! their customer service is not the best in the world and if you are on a genie tarrif its even worse 02 I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!

Rich, certainly older Ericsson phones have a "prefered networks" list and you can shuffle them round if yours isn't at the top. All this does is make the phone search for your chosen network first.
O2 are having a lot of problems at the moment because of the large influx of new customers they are attracting as their tariffs are the best value. The cell sites don't seem to be able to handle the volume of traffic at peak times which is resulting in dropped calls, failure to connect and sms not being sent.
However their customer service has always been dubious! Only in my opinion of course!

We've got some great deals on at the moment and if you send me your e-mail address I'll send you some info.

What about the One-Tel deal at £4.99 a month? Is that worth considering? Is it just to get you on-board then increase the cost later?

Ariel- The one-tel deal is on Vodafone, they charge £49.99 for a Nokia 3310, line rental £4.99 per month with no inclusive calls.
Call charges are 15p peak and 5p off-peak to landlines, 10p for voicemail 10p per sms. Cross network is 40p peak and 30p off-peak.

I've just rung them again and they're offering the SonyEricsson T68i for £279.99. Bargain

So if you want a decent phone you'll pay a premium for it, better off with the traditional networks and get the phone much, much cheaper!

T68i for £65 anybody??! Now that is a bargain!!

I have a T-mobile and have had since 1995 cant complain good coverage no text problems

My work provided BT Cell is a pile of sh1te, I work at Heathrow and their mast has been damaged for over two years now and its still not been repaired, if anywhere should have a good signal it should be Heathrow, how many BT C/net users pass through daily?!!!!, we get between zero and one bar on the signal, again texts dont get there, strangely the phone still shows BT Cellnet on the screen rather than O2 as they are now known, when One 2 One became T-mobile the display changed on the day the change over happened.

Used to have a BT Cellnet contract phone but I ended up ringing them every month as they'd miscalculated my bill, moved me onto a "better" tariff, etc without consulting me. Tried desperately for 12 months to cancel and finally was allowed to. Now with Orange on a Pay-as-you-go type thing and can't fault them at all and never (knowingly) had any missed text messages etc, although I'm not a big mobile phone user... My other half had similar experiences and now most of the people we know are with Orange...

Moved from Smellnet Pay Monthly to Virgin PAYG and been really pleased. Bit disappointed when they started charging for 0800 numbers, but apart from that no complaints.

They were really good when the hands free connector broke - sent out a new hands free kit at no cost to me.

Whats the best deal on an Ericsson T68i atm?

Carphone Warehouse are offering 2 tariffs on them cheapest being £66 ! Tariffs of 13.99 or 15/mnth. That seems like a good deal to me for a kickass phone. Comments?

Ideally I want a free T68i on PAYG, or am I dreaming

I paid £69 for T68i on Anytime 20 (T-Mobile) from Mobile Republic, which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Orange all the way always been reliable and coverage equal to vodafone they even gave me 50 quid credit for being a loyal customer.
my brother has tried them all and finally he has taken my advice and is now on orange and has no complaints.
with dual band i managed to get a signal sailing in the middle of the greek islands
