Best singer ever
Only to take everyone’s minds off Ukraine, Russia, tories etc
im not that old, well I am at 54 lol. But Lois Armstrong, Pat Benetar and Freddie Mercury….class of his own.
But a woman who could hit out the park years ago and will do for years to come, dead or not-Billie Holliday. Timeless

Impossible question to answer, but here's my 2p...
Maybe in a technical sense not the best singer, but in terms of an amazing voice to listen to that just works with his music is Maxi Jazz from Faithless.
I'd say the same about Thom Yorke from Radiohead - he can't really sing in a pure sense, but his voice just fits the music perfectly!
An absolute legend of a singer is Horace Andy who sings on quite a few Massive Attack songs and is also a renowned reggae singer in his own right.
Probably the most amazing live voice I've heard is Florence Welsch from Florence and the Machine, although somehow in recordings she never quite sounds as good!
Actually, one of the best voices I've heard is a young girl called Jasmine Thompson who is only really known for singing covers on YouTube, but her voice is just stunning IMHO!

Here cover of Mad World by Tears for Fears is another one!
As she has very little instrumental backing, her voice is really the focus and not many singers can pull that off!
Obviously Onka Judge is another one of those rare talents

I’m a fan of Mike Patton off of faith no more among other bands/projects. Not everyone’s cup of tea but as far as range goes he has a hard to beat 6 octave range, bigger than Axl Rose range. You may not be familiar with his/their music but if you play Xbox etc he does vocals for quite a few games, and is also the ‘voice’ of the scary animals on the Will Smith film I am Legend.
I saw Muse live at the Isle of Wight festival a few weeks ago. **** me that Mr Bellamy can sing too. Another I saw live last year was Gary Lightbody and Snow Patrol. Maybe not vocally challenging so to speak but live he is faultless and has a great voice in my opinion.
I would say Bono is up there vocally, and for a female artist Annie Lennox always used to have an incredibly strong voice.
