When I was at school many years ago, my science teacher was an ex-astrologist and scientist and was actually nominated for the Nobel prize due to some of his work. I asked him the question once and he replied that he was certain there has been other life in the universe, but the chances of two life forms existing simultaneously is very slim. The amount of time life has existed on earth is a mere blink of an eye when compared to the length of time the universe has been in existence. The chances of two blinks occurring at the same time is infinitely small, smaller still the chance of having two conscious life forms, smaller still having two life forms with the ability to communicate, smaller still those life forms having the ability to travel great distances across space etx, you get the picture.

Honest story!...when I first met my girlfriends mum and dad 10 years ago the first conversation I had with her father was about 8ft aliens in the Russian government. Gods honest truth he was telling me about aliens in government, I can hand on my heart say i don’t like her father and I don’t like being left alone with him. He is on the sick and spends a lot of time on YouTube. You have to be polite when you first meet the in-laws but even now 10 years later my gf knows not to leave me alone with him. I won’t attack him it’s just the bu11sh1t he chats

I think Rutherford calculated that the chance of spontaneous life occurring on earth -abiogenesis ,was of the order
1 in 10>40,000 !!!!!!!!!! That is a greater number than all the "strings" in the universe - So it appears it is pretty rare.
And so far it seems statistically it is correct as NO evidence of life anywhere other than earth has been proven to exist.
Amino acids have been identified in meteorites , but they are inorganic and although they are the building blocks of proteins -organic, they are required to meet a rare combination sequence to make 1 single protein . 20! x 250! a massive number.
If one single AA is in the incorrect sequence , the string collapses.
Then there is the cell wall and reproduction
The bottom line is, life is rare, very rare , but no absolute proof one way or another has been established -May have to wait for ASI for the answer.
