I'm planning on digging up my whole garden and re-doing the whole lot.

I was wondering if there is a piece of software that does garden plans? It might help me with various ideas I want to try without breaking my back!!

yes there is, it does 3d graphics too & 3d walkabout so you can "walk" in your garden - right now i cant remember the name, sorry

I tried one called LandDesigner 3D v6.0 by Sierra Home. It was easy to use and a bit of a laugh. You can do the walkabouts and even fly around as if in a helicopter. In terms plants and stuff I think it may be geared up a bit more towards USA but there was still a good choice of stuff. You could even set it up so the plants would grow through the seasons and the sun would move round the correct way. You also have to build the house and you can put a car on the driveway, shed in the garden etc.

I think the novelty wore off before I actually did any proper designing and I just ended up with a meticulously crafted scale model of my garden which was just covered in turf. IIRC it was about £15 from Amazon or such like.

To be honest, I wanted to try some different paving, decking and gravelling options, and get rid of the lawn completely!!!
