Default Proper customer service.

Bought a blackout blind for one of my Velux windows. The instructions state to remove the outer frame covers. One came off, (one screw and a sliding clip), but I cannot see how to get the other off.

So I dropped them an email about 4pm UK time, and by 6.30 I had a response.
Sent them a photo, and they rang me this morning to talk me through it, then sent an email with pics.

All customer service should be as good!

You actually understood Velux instructions?

They are on par with the 'Engrish' supplied with Chinese tat and Westfalia wiring guides for towing electrics

Mind, I was fitting electric blinds...of which I appear to have a load of bits left over, I can only assume it's for other models. It works though, so I don't care...what would be nice if they could actually roll out their 'Smart' interface as their current 'Integra' remote control is a pile of poop and it'd be nice if they were properly automated. They keep making announcements but nothing comes of it

I generally find Velux instructions pretty good.
I converted all my manual roof windows to electric. First one took over an hour. Next three, ten to fifteen minutes each.

It's good to see any kind of customer service these days.
I would think that it would be easy for any assembly or instructions to be shown on a video clip on-line these days on the manufacturers website.

Also they should test the instructions to see if a variety of different members of the public can actually follow them.

I agree.
At least Velux have text as WELL as drawings.

Mine was just drawings...no text whatsoever bar step numbers. And you had to skip to varying steps, use certain parts or discard other parts depending on which window model, that's providing you can remember which window model you had - the stickers had pealed off on mine.

For top customer service, I find Amazon right up there. Another company I dealt with that had fantastic customer service was the company who make the olive oil tank smart meter

This morning I placed two thick books on top of my stepladder, and climbed up again. (The alternative was to get out the ladders and go on the roof, which I prefer NOT to do unless forced, LOL)

Then I could SEE the screw that I could not feel, which they said would be there. Once undone, the cover slid sideways and the job was done in about five minutes.

If only all customer service was as good.

Blind now works perfectly, and I'll be able to sleep in past 6am when it gets light
