Alloys Wider rear than front on widetrack?
Hi all hoping I can get some help as I haven't a clue on this one...
I've been offered a set of wheels which I really want
rears are 9.5j and front 8.5j wide
My questions is Can I run wider rears than the front on my widetrack and will it effect the dccd ?
Thankyou all in advance

No. Subaru drivetrains are very fussy about same wheel diameter front and rear.
I know your question relates to width, but you'l be hard pushed to get matching diameters by mixing widths and ratios.

For a 9.5j wheel width the minimum tyre width is 245,(idealy 255/265) so would need to be lower profile to keep the rolling radius in the correct speedo range and within 1% of the fronts
Using 17" wheels as a guide
OEM is 225x45x17
To have same rolling radius you would need a 245x40x17 tyre and then you need to take into account offset......
Standard offset is 55, you would need an offset of about 40 for the 9.5J to clear the struts plus probable arch extensions to accomodate the extra width.
Then there's the issue re: different contact patch size which would probably wreck your centre diff.
