Completely missed the seeing the bend, therefore he was going far too fast to do anything.
You can see the skid marks only start just before he leaves the road. What a numpty for not reccing the circuit properly.
Or he was doing one of those face to camera moments, expressing how ridiculously fast this car is(was), before he became the proverbial passenger of a fireball

Looks like the back end went light under heavy braking - the tail wagged the dog - he was just a passenger after that.....
Hope it (or the programme makers) was well insured - can't imagine there are many of those around!
