British Gas - Simply Unbelievable
I moved house some weeks back to a place that was supplied by British Gas (dual supply). I have since switched supplier and have been arguing with BG about the final bill which is far larger than it should be and for which they cannot supply any actual meter readings.
Anyway following receipt of yet another threatening letter today I phoned and said I was not going to pay them against estimated amounts and asked them what meter readings had been used. And I promise you this is what they said to me. "We read the Gas meter only on 24 Jan but the Electric meter has to be read by the Electric guys"- in other words 2 visits. I did ask how qualified one had to be to open a box and write a few numbers down. I don't think I have heard such complete and absolute bollox in my life.
