Terrific actor and I think a genuine nice guy. Instantly recognisable "smoky" voice.

Saw him several times in a restaurant we went to in Battersea.

One of the greats a la Burton, O'Toole etc.

Met him years ago in ballycotton co cork they filmed a movie called divine rapture with johnny depp and marlon Brando the film was pulled for lack of funding but you can watch first 25 mins of it on you tube he was supposed off booze then but was lashing down the Guinness with the locals gent rip john hurt
