Default Road tax

Hi all

My brother in law has brought a new car so he said I can borrow the old one for a while until they sell it. It's no longer insured so I will have to transfer mine over to the car, so since I'm doing this would I have to also tax the vehicle even though I'm just borrowing it and it's still going to be registered under his name until it sells.

As above, if it stays in his name then the tax is still valid.
