Thumbs up Tomato Tip

Anyone who grows their own tomatoes knows there it no better taste than one picked straight from the vine. Supermarket tomatoes just taste bland and flavourless.

Well I learnt last night that the reason is that tomatoes kept in cool conditions - below 54 degrees to be precise - have the taste element destroyed. Supermarkets keep them chilled and I used to keep in the fridge.

So my free tip of the day

Looks good, well done Sir. They're just fun to grow (and eat). Feed well, don't let them dry out and avoid hot direct sun David

I have tried growing my own for a number of years now. Every variety I try has a tough skin but taste fine, what am I doing wrong?

Great tips/advice David.
I was and still am amazed at how fast these grew,we got them when they less than an inch tall,a few months later and over 5ft.
Mother Nature never seizes to amaze

Thanks
Rich
