Default M25 question

Hey folks,

So, need an answer to a question please. I need to drive from Junction 28 on the M25 (A12) to Junction 12 (M3). Which is the shorter 'distance'? Clockwise or anti-clockwise. Purely basing this on distance alone, not time, traffic, roadworks etc.

Even with the bridge I'd probably go under.

hate it with a passion ..

It's 60 miles to go through Dartford, so looking out from London, going to the right and 58.1 miles going the other way

This has to be clock time related. Peak times, don't bother going either way. Off peak, anti clockwise wins for me.

distance wise I doubt there is more that 5 miles in it

I had to go to junction to 8 3 or 4 times a week a couple of years ago as I was working on a project there

I could either come down the A1 (Jct23) and go anti-clockwise or M11 (Jct27) and go clockwise

clockwise was definitely quicker

the anti-clockwise route between 20 and 16 has been widened to 4 lanes (since then), so does carry a lot of traffic, but then the tolls on the bridge have been removed

I would go anti clockwise though

Anticlockwise is definitely shorter, but only by a couple of miles. What would be more interesting is to calculate the difference in G-Forces experienced over the course of the entire trip, bearing in mind that you'd be travelling along a very slightly narrower arc in one direction than the other (I use the term interesting, very, very loosely ).

Sorry, I somehow managed to miss your post. Curious also how you worked it out, if you don't mind my asking.
