Default Obtain Reg number using VIN?

I now own an old Vespa frame that doesn't have a book or number plate attached. From the VIN number on the frame I've managed to find out it's a 1983 Vespa PK50S.

Is it possible to find out the registration by using the VIN number on HPI check? DVLA obviously will have "lost" the records for it and I'd really like the original age related plate if possible.

The vehicle must have a current mot on it to be able to remove the reg number. Or do you just want to keep the same number on the Vespa.

You request a registration plate from the DVLA to put it back on the road and pound to a penny they will give you the original VRM unless its something they could have sold on being worth cash

I got E522 DFV back on my MR2
