Euro rip off

Company that owns the Severn bridges has decided that from now on it will accept Euros in payment at the tolls.
Only trouble is it cost £4.40 when you pay in sterling or 10 Euros which equates to about £6.40. What a bloody rip off.
Wonder what will happen next year if the Tony gets his way and brings in the Euro. Will the price drop. I doubt it.

If that is true then it is ridiculous, and probably illegal!
However, it wouldn't take too many cars refusing to pay at the booths to jam the whole bridge up for a few hours - repeat until they see sense!

Oops, sorry i misread the original post, and thought that you said that they will only accept Euros - phew!!!
Still, it shows the kind of rip-offs that we can expect if we are stupid enought to vote yes to the Euro (just like France and Germany etc. are finding out).

we pay road tax and tax on fuel for.....ermmm..
I could cope with paying a little to go over a bridge but that's a right rip![img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img] The bridge to Skye has some horrendous charge aswell[img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]

Only way to get free crossing is bring someone who is disabled with you. Its free then. Dont ask me why. Far as I m concerned if your well enough to drive a car across then you should still pay like the rest of us.

Yeah the money is for one crossing though you only pay when you come into Wales. (Its free to get out)
Tolls are as follows.
Cars.............................................. ...£4.40
Small vans ie Escort up to transit size..............£8.90
Lorries........................................... ...£13.30
Still a bloody rip though even without the Euro bit.
