Sticky labels...what the F-ing F?
How dare they?????
Why do we have to buy stuff with labels glued to it, which are virtually un-removable?
Just spent half an hour getting an A4 sized label off a uPVC window glass, water wouldn't touch it, nor would any detergent, finally got it off using WD40 and MUCH picking with fingernails, finally cleaning up with white spirit and then detergent
WHAT THE FUKC goes through the minds of these fukcing morons sticking stuff like that to our purchases?
B@stards!!!!!!!!

You raise a valid issue, Alcazar. They have gone more sticky than ever, you're right. I've been noticing it for last 2-3 years when I haven't been able to peel the Sale labels fully off my reduced price Christmas gifts for people.

Next time you see a Snap-on van roaming around, coller him and buy one of these and some blades:

Very handy for removing windows stickers advertising "rival" garages

Hm, I didn't know you could buy something like that anywhere. It would have saved my nails from snapping, in the process of half freeing the cheapies from their Stubborn tell-tale labels.
Sorry, but this item seems to have been removed from the link.

Well, people here sometimes ask which q-tips or a coffee mug to buy. People vent out here about something as little as some random 1970's Beemer blast past them in a fast lane, p7ssing them off. They even moan about burning their toast FFS! I think Alcazar's moan about stubborn labels is valid and a growing problem of the first world, which he's quite reasonable to air.

The tar remover car cleaning products will do it too.
The most irritating thing is that easily removable stickers exist, but of course they cost more and once the suppliers have your money they don't give a sh4t.

In my new build farm house every single glass pane has a stupidly stubborn sticky label on, God knows why?! It literally took me 2 hours to remove them all and that was with using a 'glue and tar' remover substance which helps to dissolve the label. Why oh why put them on glass?! Posh companies use those plastic type ones that peel off in one but these were those awful paper ones that rip and leave a horrible mess if you attempt to peel it off. I figured out half way through that the best way is to use a fresh Stanley knife razor blade to scrape it off. It doesn't scratch and it almost takes it clean off every time. You just use the physical blade itself and have it flat against the surface and it'll just take it off.

I personally can't believe it's a cost thing, as even the large labels on the cheapest of supermarket 5L own-brand screenwash bottles come off in an instant. My guess is the glass people don't even realize their labels are such a pain to remove, or maybe even that due to the product they're selling being potentially dangerous, they're under some kind of legal obligation to use a specific kind of glue. The only way to find out would be to contact them and ask.

Tried. It's useless for the purpose.
That's it.

Where do you get it? Can I get it at B&M cheapie? Also, does it make a mess on the good you're trying to rescue from the leech-like label? I ask that because I'm thinking of the books, cosmetics, clothes and shoes packaging and electronics; Christmas gifts type of things, you know.

Even then, I don't think one should even have to spend time and money in getting a £4.75p on a remover can, as it's a hidden added expense, and the worth of the good that you're trying to rescue from the label goes up by a few pennies. It all tots up at the end of the day. IMO labels shouldn't be that stubborn at first place.
