How do I park outside my house?

How do I park outside my house?
So I live on a main road (sadly) and although I do have a drive, at the moment it only fits one car, so either my misses or I have to park on the road.
Plenty of people park on my road and get the bus to work, which makes parking a pain but the most difficult bit is getting other road users to understand what we plan to do.
So as I approach the space I slow right down, then throw my hazzard lights on and speed up to create a gap, alerting the person behind I plan to do something. I stop just after the gap and throw my reverse lights on well before they have caught up and every time and I mean every time the person behind comes right up behind me.
At this point I just sit there and wait .. I've been clear and am not moving. It gets some beeps and some exchanges of me shouting my hazzard lights you ****ing retard .. but how else can I do it?
Driving me nuts.

I think you should just use your indicator. People might understand that more than your hazards. Having the indicator usually means you are going to be turning somewhere but hazards could just mean that you are stationary/broken down. This means that people will get up close and try to overtake. What else could you do other than having a flashing sign attached on your roof saying "LEAVE ROOM. I AM PARKING HERE"

Indicator on (signal), slow down, then onto hazard lights (shows you are stopping) then do a 180 J turn into the space in a cloud of tyre smoke.

That's what brake lights are for From memory i was taught something to the effects of stopping alongside the space and indicating in, then when all is clear move forward to where you want to start the maneuver then parallel park.

The Pimmster, is it not too much of a ballache to change your route so that you approach your crib from the other lane, thus having to indicate to turn right - but forwards! - albeit across the path of oncoming traffic, on the other side?
The upshot of this is that it'd be an easier and 'less pressured' manoeuvre.
That way, much less hassle from the cars behind, due to 'normal highway compliance'.

I remember a very similar thread I posted on some time back. The same predictably useless replies regarding indicating etc. However, the fact that 95% of people are braindead and remain so when in their cars, doesn't change the fact that bar you having a pop-up sign in your back window or a display like Plod have to spell it out to them then they will continue to run up behind you when you stop.
Whatever the Highway Code or any other Tome of educational garbage says, I agree with you in that by putting on your hazard lights at an appropriate time before stopping you could not be any plainer that you are now a 'hazard' and may be attempting a manoeuvre not normally expected.
If somebody in front of me (usually trucks) does exactly this then I drop back to give them room as I don't know for sure what may happen.
Common sense surely.

I suspect they probably wouldn't notice anyway.

Can you just follow me around? resolves the problem completely ..

easy Buy an A45 turbo up to around 50 yards from spot then crawl at 20MPH till car spots hole, wind windows down and tell them your parking and still wave at them whilst your car parks its self.......
