Default Nail Guns...

Next project for when I'm in Ireland is some Northshore for some really boggy bits of my cycle trail. I could sit there and screw bits of wood on to make the surface or risk my fingers with a hammer & nails but a nail gun would seem to make more sense.

Can someone recommend me something suitable? Don't need the best in the world but I know not a lot other than they are dangerous if used incorrectly... I've heard Paslode is a good make but what model I wouldn't have a clue. Guess it needs to be robust, easy to use and be able to knock out a few hundred nails without running out. Wood is mainly going to be softwood/treated wood such as pallets and fence posts etc

You can't go wrong with a dewalt 2nd fix gun as it will fire up to 63mm pins in to block walls and is just run from a battery. Different if you were going to 1st fix houses but for casual use the dewalt is excellent.

The 2nd fix is ok for internal work.but not for external fencing etc. you will need to use galvanised nails As the brights dont last long outside .They are available from 51mm to 90mm

I have never saw one person on site use a Hitachi nail gun, for that price I would rather pay extra for a paslode or dewalt.

I have both guns but the one I use most is Dewalt, The paslode 1st fix is too overkill for pallets and fence panels as the nails are just too big. Average nail size for Paslode is 3" and I think that is just too big for your needs?

True then again my milwakee impact is the best around, yet on site all you see it dewalt/makita.
You yourself know just because they use it on a job, doesn't necessarily mean they know if it's good, it's usually what everyone else uses so they just stick with the same brand.
Bit like iSheeple in a way i guess.
