Autoglass repair .. autoglass charge how fooking much
"Just to let you know all our work comes with a lifetime guarantee on the workmanship for as long as you own the vehicle, we do also offer a mobile service so we can come to where ever you are in the UK. The total cost for this glass replacement all inclusive of VAT and labour, would be £669.90"

WTF?!
I smashed my windscreen when the BM was three months old! They have a stupid wiper design with no retaining clip. Lift the wiper and it just comes off; in my case the main wiper flicked over the road then the metal arm smashed the screen...
BMW just said use insurance but I didn't want an AG screen; they don't re-set the auto wiper and lights sensors. Anyway I finally got a BMW screen for £400 but was still irritated; a stupid design fault was to blame.
Kicked up a bit of an FB fuss, suddenly BMW UK paid for it...
Annoyingly the new screen has tiny micro scratches which appear only in strong sunlight; probably just me being OCD but I'll mention it at service time.
Anyway, this "free" insurance nonsense is just that; nonsense.

This is on an Insignia too .. so I'd expect the parts to be cheaper than an BM.

I have never paid for glass replacement except the excess£50 why would you pay that unless its not insured. You dont have to use autoglass to get windscreen done. I used Merc main dealer once and insurance paid for it. They did complain though at the price compared to auto windscreens

Only company I will use for glass replacement is RAC windscreens - only company I have seen that will cost the channel where the cut out the old glass seal with a primer before installing the new screen. Almost impossible to cut out a bonded screen without leaving scratches behind.
