I think someone needs to bang their heads together, whilst the moobed chav shouldn't have dumped the cup anyone taking the law into their own hands is equally stupid - it's an easy win for the old bill when he coughs to instigating a fight...

Yeah but if the retard in the car stuck a knife in him would a paper cup in the street in a city with street cleaners have been worth losing his life over.
For me he's as bad as the idiot that littered, chasing people down and creating a situation is plain stupid, if it bothers you that much pick it up and put it in the bin, that's what I do when I'm out in the countryside and see some non bio degradable rubbish.

I was brought up on 'Follow the Country Code' & 'Keep Britain Tidy' campaigns.
Sadly these kind of social responsibility information films seem to be a thing of the past which is a real shame. It is just in my DNA now not to litter & it takes no effort.
I saw a school kid step outside our local shop, unwrap his ice lolly & drop the wrapper on the floor & he was standing next to the bin!!!
BTW isn't littering an offence? Why not prosecute the driver. His finger prints would be on the cup......................not difficult.

There is no proof corsa man threw the cup out of his car
Yes his fingerprints may be on the cup, but he would argue from when he removed the cup from his car
Saliva test? Doubt plod would bother for littering

As much as I'm not into littering cyclists nowadays really do go out with a chip on their shoulder in the mornings, just a matter of time before someone gives a cyclist a slapping TBH.

What a complete tw#t. As I have said before, if he has a family, he is a complete tool for putting himself in that position. It's a can for God sake. Does he think that he is saving the planet? His tone completely changed when the driver threatened to knock him out.
Of course the driver was in the wrong but does the cyclist really think that throwing the can back at him was going to change his behavoir.

He was thinking of the online praise he'd get for being a hero ..

The whole thing kind of sums up everything that is wrong with this stupid country.
One arrogant aggressive litter lout... check
One self righteous moralising bell end on a bike ... check
The most manipulative and outright divisive sensationalist rag of a very bad bunch ... The Daily Mail.... check
Talk of involving the police over a few heated words and a can on the road... an organisation that can barely deal with a serious crime.... check
What a sh1tty little country we have become!

I find myself agreeing with F1.
.....I must be going soft.
I must admit when out cycling the litter you see in the hedge rows is all fast food stuff. Pretty clear that there is a certain demograph of people who drop litter.

Yes.
A generation ago it would have been a stern look from the local Sargent major
Have we made progress? Goodness knows.
I suspect this louts dad would have heaved his unwanted chips into the hedgerow just the same

Looks like their war on cars by using cameras is backfiring

If I'm walking along a country road and I see litter, I pick it up, put it in my pocket and put it in the bin when I get home, pretty straight forward really. Put into that cyclists position, it would have annoyed me but I would have carried along my way. If I was directly behind that car going in the same direction, I would have picked it up and put it in my pocket.

£1000 per DNA test. But since the government got rid if the Forensic Science Service, it all become a lot more complex and more expensive.

I was on a train a few years ago and a young fella with his family was throwing his sweet wrappers out of the window, there was a bin less than 6 ft from him. I shouted at him to stop littering, he was so shocked. He did stop littering and gave me a glare, but did nothing about it. I am 6ft and then 18 stone.
Grow some ***** and tell people what they are doing wrong.
