I've heard of them, they almost got my heads to skim a few years ago but I went for someone else IIRC.

I used to watch John race at Ingleston way back in the day. Had a very quick Mallock if i remember correctly. Mt John a couple of times through a mutual friend. Lovely guy.

Also had casue to speak to him on a professional level a couple of years back - lovely guy. Why not just call and have a chat with him?

Just noticed the thread. As an "older" member of this community, I did use Agra back before even you ask about.
John Fyda was a well respected engine builder and in about 1975, I had Agra rebuild the Lotus Twin Cam Big Valve engine in my Lotus Elan Sprint. They did a bit of head work and put in higher lift cams. Was very pleased with the car on it's return (bear in mind it only weighed 14 hundredweight and handled like a go cart. VERY little in those days could compete with it.
I did not deal with anyone else in the firm except John Fyda though, I am afraid.

1975 , that is around the time they started development of the lotus engines , took this from there site .

1974/75Engine development started on Lotus twin cams which were among the most successful engines of the era. It soon became necessary for us to install dyno. During this period the company campaigned a Lotus Elan, which was the most successful of the era and the first development engine on offer to customers.

my dad would have been there at that time , he was the foreman there at the time of his death in 1988.

i was born 1977 , i didnt realise for years after his death what i missed out on learning from him
