AA Alternative ??
Renewal came this morning for AA. Roadside and Relay -- £201 for self and wife (two cars). This seems expensive now so what are good alternatives ? Trying to save time on long google searches and hear from those with good/bad experiences. Need roadside cover and relay for self and wife covering the two cars, we both drive each others.
So.. recommendations please.
Thanks
Brian.

Try your back, they may do a paid for bank account that comes with loads of extras, mine has mob phone cover, full euro break down with home start, travel insurance etc all for the grand sum of £16 a month

This is our one :

The above account is no longer available to new customers, but there are plenty of others to choose from.

Same here, however it really depends on what type of cover you need as to whether it is worth it for you and also the age of your vehicle.

First thing to do is go onto the AA website and get a quote for your existing circumstances/policy.
I guarantee it'll be cheaper.
I was with the AA a few years back and my renewal came through for a similar price. Online it was £70 cheaper. I rang them up and they matched it.
Thieving gits hope people will automatically renew without looking elsewhere.

Alternatively try Autoaid. I've been with them for a few years now but never had to use them, only £41 per year which includes free wife cover and it also covers roadside assistance, recovery, transport costs hotels ect. Only catch is you have to pay for everything upfront if you need to use them and claim it back, easily done on a credit card though.

Ring them up and say you will move to the RAC unless they offer you a better deal, they usually will and if they say the deals are only for new members just say you will leave unless you get the same deal. I had the RAC discounting me £60 every year after I complained to them about a new member discount.

Take a look at GEM motoring assist. I've used them the last few years. It's about £80 for a joint policy that covers the lot. They've won a few Autocar awards or something I think. I've not used them yet (touch wood) but not really heard anything negative about them.

I was with the RAC for years after betting a year free when buying a Renault Clio Williams, kept it active until 2009 when I got a brand new Seat Leon.
They did at the time of cancelling a no call out discount on your next years renewal which effectively it got cheaper each year.
Cant remember if the no call out thing is still in place now.
When I got another Scooby last year (Second car) I needed cover as my current Seat package wouldn't cover me and by pure coincidence about the same time RAC wrote to me to try and get me back, I called the number quoted the discount code in the letter but said I was going shop around so they reduced it again
Covers me on both cars for pretty much everything bar lost keys and wrong fuelling, think I paid around £90
Mark.

As above, The AA are bastuwards at auto renewing at a higher price than can be had for a new AA customer with the same policy
I don't think I pay that much, - but thought anyway that AA cover the user not the car (I have 4 cars that I assume they would recover if I or my wife were driving)
Also what really bumps the price up is home start - which I never use or need tbh
