Driving along dual-carriageway the other day in a truck I was held up by a very slow moving (35mph) car in the inside lane. All I could see inside was like a whitish shroud in the drivers seat.
As I eventually overtook I had a good look to see what was driving this car. To my disbelief it was a woman driving whilst wearing what I think is called a berka. You know one of those all in one dress type things. All she (And I assume it was a she) had to see from was a tiny slit cut into the face of this thing. There was no side vision at all from this. I could not even see the eyes as I past her. And if I cant see her she cant see me.
I know its their religion to wear these things but to me this is just so bloody irresponsible and dangerous. Perhaps she should stick to camels in future.
Chip.

Nah, you've got it all wrong It doesn't matter if you can see or not just as long as you don't eat, use the phone, speed or have fun whilst driving
I don't give a tiny rats *** whether it's religous dress or not, it's a chuffin dangerous outfit to wear whilst driving!

My religion (church of dracoro) states that I must drive at top speed (there's a commandment about wasting time travelling!) everywhere so maybe I can be exempt from fines/bans etc?

Chip, I have to say I agree with you. I see women wearing similar outfits near me but in black. It looks like Darth vader is driving. How you can see properly out of a letterbox slit at the front is beyond me.

Nads to the PC brigade on this one! Driving safety is driving safety, it doesn't matter what your religion, colour or sex is!
That sort of headwear might be appropriate in day to day society but it is deffo not the done thing on a motorway, comon sense I'd say.... bring the PC lot, religous leaders, whoever you like and I'll tell them the same..... you can't wear a helmet in a car on the road FFS!

In Dubai (I think) they are allowed to take off their masks when driving but the cars have almost fully blacked out windows to hid them instead.
I think this is a better idea than them driving covered up but I think that the laws over there about tinting windows allows for dark all round whereas in the UK we are only allowed a partcial tint especially on the front windows!
