Changing currency for smaller notes?? Possible ??
I don't think that I can do this but….
All our Mexican Peso's for impending holiday are 200peso notes, no small change for early tips etc. Will the currency exchanges at Gatwick airport change a 200 note for some smaller denomination ones or are they not allowed to do this ?
Otherwise it's buy a bottle of water quick when we arrive.

Id ask bank / call these people you mention up / look at the interweb Mexico travel advice
We are bound for Zim in a month or two . There the govermnent have minted a billion coins to use as small change ( less than one us dollar) .
they can only be used in Zim , and are not exchangable for us dollar
- and suprise surprise, nobody is using them
( Not even the ministers )

We have some small $ for the Belize/Guatemala part of the first week but was just wondering about something similar with the peso.
