Default A great year for shareholders

By the end of 2015 experts are speculating the FTSE 100 will have broken through the 7500 barrier and everyone will be living happily ever after in Osborne's economic miracle.

Just thought I'd write the same fantasy nonsense we had this time last year

I had a great start to the year. Had some shares that had doubled in value, and my total investment was 30% up on the year.

However, I speculated on some oil exploration companies, that didn't go quite so well. Now just a few % up on investment on the year. Hoping for a good 2015.

Invested in a company in the FTSE250, that should get into the FTSE100. Not sure when, but the share price will go upwards fast.

Got some long term investments too, so not too bothered about them. Rising slow and steady.

Sad isn't it. He just can't accept that some are doing OK in life. Still I'm sure he'll find peace within when he fukcs off to his beloved Australia.

I can't believe that as nobody made any gains on their shareholdings this year, at least that's what some seem to believe.

Stop talking like a patronising pr1ck. Of course I can accept that some are doing OK in life, what gets on my wick is that they invariably look no further than their own lot and don't give a damn about society as a whole.

Thatcher did a good job of convincing some that society shouldn't exist and it's a dog eat dog world with personal success at the expense of others seen as something to be celebrated.

I get you on this f_1. Some people are just money-minded capitalists. "As long as I'm more and more OK day by day..." is a way of life to some. Yes, there should be a limit to greed, but in real world, some are more greedy than others.

It's not aimed at anyone, just a general comment upon greed. I don't know how insatiably greedy who is; here. One can only measure people by what people post here.

Precisely, we all want to get on in the world, but some of us don't enjoy doing it at the expense of others. A more balanced society like we had in the 70s would be a good thing for this country, but that will never happen now given the political landscape. Very sad!
