Had a really cool day saturday Brands Hatch

Thanks Toyota (esp for the girls)

Right I was last to go in our group we were told that the average time was 32 sec's so far. Beat 27 and you get a calculator!

After the 1st five people failed to better 45 sec's the groups nutter steps up wheel spins away handbrakes round the cones doesn't touch a single cone and his time 28.98 sec's WOW

Now its my turn I hadn't thought about the handbrake option but hey lets give it a go.

25.84 sec's

Thats a calculator for me

Anybody done better

Phil

I managed 33 seconds. What did you think of the drive on track. Tried the Celica and was quite impressed but very slow compared to a Scoob considering the power it has.

30 seconds in the Yaris for me. Two of the "parks" I didn't drive in fully enough and had to reverse more , otherwise I think it would have been closer to 28.

Fun afternoon though, for free.

Was at Brands on Sat PM, did 24 secs, won a Yaris calculator and a MR2 roadster cd wallet, got out the car to every one clapping ! Apparently it was the best time of the day, however the expert managed 19 secs, how I dont know as I was flat out all the way round. Was impressed with the car as it was so agile.
Took the Celica on track and was told off for screeching the tyres and asked to slow down, turns out I got the wrong instructor or my driving was dangerous !!!!
Bloody good day though for free, would like the mod on my car that stops lift off oversteer.......

Question

Slightly off topic, but how far ahead of the event did you receive your "info pack"? (I'm at Oulton on 16th)

Mik,
My pack came about a week before. I wouldn't worry though cos IIRC people were turning up without ther packs and were ok.

I turned up at Brands without my pack (which had been promised on numerous occasions). The people at the track had no up-to-date datsbase but let me in anyway. I guess they just took pity on an old bloke.

The people on the helpline had given me a number to quote but it meant nothing to those registering us on the day. Despite this I still enjoyed Toyota's hospitality and thrashing their cars!

Maybe we should all email Subaru saying how good the Toyota day was and ask them what they are going to do to get pre MY01 owners to upgrade ?
