BMW had my car for 10 weeks.
Had my car into BMW on a paint warranty issue.
It went in on 22nd September..
I rejected it mid October as the paint repair was shoddy....Bodyshop manager agreed.
Rejected again first week of November due to patchy paint and overspray on roof and rear window seals..
I was called on Monday to say the car would be ready at 4pm Yesterday. I said i would be there at 1pm today.. I never made it,got a call at 10am to say the seal that had been ordered was wrong and it would be Thursday next week 4th December when it may be done..
I have rang the dealer principal, but spoke to his secretary and it will probably be Monday before he can get back to me as he is on a training course..
Its unnaceptable IMHO.....I have had a 1 series courtesy car,but my car is an M car and its costs me £300 to tax and insure the feckin thing whilst its been at the main dealers..
Would you try and get some kind of service for free in lieu of a bit of compensation or im a whinging a but to much ?

Mine had to go back for dodgy roof paint; but took three days!
The van has just been in for nine weeks for a mystery issue; finally resolved. I got a years extra warranty and two years extra VW Assist.
Yours is totally unacceptable. Contact the BMW MD and unleash hell.

BMW dealers are not the best so this doesn't surprise me. I've had a number of cracked alloys, 2 replaced under warranty, but the moment it was out of warranty they just give me a nice quote for a £550 wheel each time a crack was spotted when it was in for a service - no offer of good will, or even to contribute towards the cost. Pretty poor considering how much they charge for servicing.

I remember the time when nothing was said bad about BMW's maybe the tide is changing.
I think you should get something in way of compensation for the inconvenience after all you are not in your car are you.

BMW do make plenty of good cars still so don't write them all off.
My BMW dealer has been very good. I checked a few when buying; very variable in quality of service.

Yeah...the good BMW that I want is stuck in the workshop waiting for parts.
Not the dealer's fault, well sort of - the one issue was pointed out on initial test drive before purchase and I was told it was sorted - it wasn't. Transpires the little vibration is a little more than a out-of-balance wheel (I knew that - as I had checked the wheel myself on our own tyre balance, but I wasn't going to tell them to suck eggs).
Had a run of bad luck with it - cracked the windscreen in the first 500 miles, and after 1500miles a bloke from Andorra reversed into it at the services someone outside of Lyon and damaged the bumper. Seems people from Andorra don't speak good Spanish (nor English), and I don't speak French (nor Catalan). That was fun . Add the warranty faults to the mix and its not been a good first month of ownership.
But in that month I've put almost 4000miles on it and ignoring the defects, its a good experience.

Out of interest, whats causing the vibration ?? And what car is it ?
I decided to email BMW GB and see what they have to say about the my car situation. They replied quickly that they will look into the situation and let me know an outcome.....
Which im sure will be them telling me "suck Teutonic plums"...

535d GT Luxury; The wheels are bent! Wheels are on back order.
I pointed out the vibration after the pre-purchase test drive. Assured it was fixed before delivery. It remained. I think if I hadn't of noticed this during the test drive I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on.
Whoever initially checked it over also missed a worn ball joint too (this I did point out to them as I checked the car over myself after taking delivery). That was surprising to find on a car of this age and mileage, it wouldn't have helped with the vibration either as the play would amplify any run-out on the wheel. That's been sorted, probably embarrassing on their behalf as it is an item that would be highlighted on a MOT.
And before people say this is bad - its nothing to me; My Golf lived in the main dealership for a month while they changed the timing chains, tensioner and a flywheel. That was pretty major warranty work in comparison. And my Impreza....that had a new short engine under warranty! (and no, it wasn't a 2.5 ).

My local dealer is great. Since trading my E92 M3 for an M4 I've been back twice. Once for a minor niggle and last week for first service.
Both times I had an M loaner... Demo M3 then M4.
