hi all,
I'm Bas van Osta. I'm 21 years old and living in a small town called Oudenbosch in The Netherlands. So I want to apologize first for not typing correct English.
Having the car loving virus from my father I couldn't stay behind his footsteps for long. He went the American way and I Always wanted a Subaru impreza. I followed Colin Mcrae sinds I was a little kid, so therefore I wanted an Impreza. When I needed a car 2 years ago due to an internship from school I bought this 1999 Impreza turbo:
The car itself has a small list:
- vf34 turbo
- invidia catback system and catless midpipe
- the car has been mapped
- 320bhp and 400Nm torque at 1.3bar
- k-sport suspension set
- Wppro 6-pot big break kit in the front (330mm)
- p1 bumper lips
- defi link gauges (the white/green ones)
- qsp 4-point racing harness and racing steering wheel
- 18 inch team dynamic rims
- some fancy racing stickers haha.
I'm still at school at the moment, but I'm in my graduation internship at the moment. After this I will be an automotive engineer and hoping to enter the racing world.
I'm a racing driver myself, but not with the Impreza though.
I currently driving a 125cc 2-stoke shifter kart and I'm building an Opel ascona rally car together with my father. I'm really proud to build it with my dad, because we're having the same hobby.
Now I saved up some money to make a change for myself. But I want to have your opinion on this one.
Since I bought my impreza I said I want to make the step and getting a classic impreza coupe. And now I got the money to complete this step.
Therefore I got 2 options to choose from:
I could find a bodyshell, make it LHD and put a rollcage in and put on a htautos 22b kit on it. The other bits I will take it from my current impreza and that one wil be gone.
The other plan is to sell my current impreza and buy a high spec coupe. At the moment I'm looking at pistonheads and I see this 450bhp type r. It has the bits and pieces to be a hell of a motor and the price is ok.
The bad part is that the car is sold by clives performance. And I looked up on the web and don't see that many stories about this company, but the stories I see and not that bad or good either.
So it's a little dilemma for me what to go for. Or I go for the looks or i go for the performance.
I'm looking forward to have a nice time with you guys and I hope you can help me out.
