Question Wedding car hire

Need to hire a car for a wedding in the next couple of months. Any suggestions?

Needs to seat 4 quite comfortably.

Was thinking....

Bentley GT @ £750 a day
Aston Martin DB9 @ £750 a day

Not sure how much space they have in the back though.

I had similar thoughts when we got married, but I decided that I didn't want a Bentley or a Rolls Royce!

My wife said we needed 4 doors, as there was no way she was going to clamber in and out of a 3 door car in her wedding dress.

So there went my ideas of well everything I had in mind!!

We settled on a Mk2 'Inspector Morse' Jaguar, which we were very happy with!

We used this very one (sorry, awful photo) :

I think it was my fourth choice! First was going to be an Aston Martin V8 - unavailable. Second was a helicopter - actually cheaper than the car! but it was October and they didn't trust the weather predictions. Third was something like a Beauford (now THIS is bling!) :

but something odd happened, I think the garage roof fell in and damaged it, so we got the Oakland. Which I was most reluctant about, but it was REALLY nice.

I'm looking for similar information - did you get anywhere with this?

I was hoping to get the new RR Phantom, but it seems very hard to locate one

Jon: If you google 'prestige car hire' it should come up with a list of companies which may be able to help.

I'm still looking. The Bentley GT was over Budget as it would need to be hired for 2 days (although it is only needed for one).

Was swaying towards a BMW 645ci or similar wihich is around £250 per day.

Why you hiring the car? Don't you want car and driver for a couple of hours only?

Thanks for the pointers. I was hoping for the new RR Phantom, but this seems unlikely to happen.

Don't like classics myself

We ended up with a stretched Mercedes limo - nothing exotic as such, but it was smart, practical and had no chance of blending in with the crowd in the car park.

Got a friend who drive a skyline day to day ...

He got married last week and it was a tough choice for the wedding car but in the end he went for one of these...

And it didn't even break down on him!

My other half would slice and dice me if I even suggested a car smaller than a Bentley/RR in proportions, something to do with the a dress ??

I quite like the Bentley Arnage, but the Phantom would be my first choice

We had one almost identical to the RR above - and YES - you do need lots of space in the back for maouvering the dress. (And I didn't even have a particularly big skirt).

The car is really important because it's the only place you get any peace an quiet during the day! Make sure the reception is a good 1/2 hour away and the car goes nice and sllllooooowwwwww......
