It's not just what it "says", it's the voice they have given it and it's expressions that match what it's saying.
It just cracked me up first time I saw it.

Trained my alsation similarly. He wouldn't take any food unless told "Take it".
I then trained him to balance a dog biscuit on his nose, then flip it up to catch and eat it when told to.

I find it fascinating that dogs have evolved the ability do "Disney" themselves up when they want something. Our Spaniels do it. They have an almost soft focus, big eye look that only comes out when food is around.
