Its seem to be an update that - read it yesterday, had to have a few new panels due dropping it in a ditch.

Had a skim read of this last night. That's a pretty epic life he's led there...regardless of the car.

Buts he's right about the car...if a bit breaks, you fix it. And everything on it is fixable. Same with my old 1969 Land Rover.....apart from that breaks alot more and needs a new chassis (no biggy...they still make them).....the idea was there, just not the quality.

Yes a good story, very sad about his wife too

But he still,did not beat the record for the longest journey - obviously that was set by Landcruiser

But a good effort from the panzer wagon

Wow - that was a good lunchtime read - thanks for the share....

Very, very inspiring, and a real shame about his wife.... so sad.

I thought the most interesting comment was:

They would both scoff at younger Germans who have, by comparison, such a high standard of living but “an even higher standard of complaining”.

So true of many first worlder's these days.... the complaints and rants about the fact that Apple gave away a free U2 album on an iPhone 6 springs to mind
