Default Speaker repair/restoration?

Thought my old KEF-Keries speakers were sounding a bit thin on bass....thought the amp was on the fritz....nope...

....The rubber/foam surround on the woofers have disintegrated

I'm hoping the suspension on the speakers has survived the abuse of them running in free air.

Anyhoo, question is, anyone know anywhere I can get them restored, failing that get the parts to repair them, although I don't really fancy replacing the cone surrounds myself. They are KEF K120 bookshelfers.

Are KEF still about? They might do it for you, or point you at a dealer.

I know Mission do the same.

Yeah KEF are still going strong.

I do suspect if they do in-house repair it may cost more than a new pair of speakers though...

It's quite critical to get the coil centralised in the magnet or you will get coil drag and distorted sound. Buy a replacement pair. They don't have to be same pair as original just decent speakers of same size, ohms and power or greater power
