kwik fit wheel alignments
Just had some new tyres at kwik fit and the have this digital wheel alignment with fancy graphics. The bits in green are okay, in red needs adjusting. Mine had some in red. However, it could mean anything. It could be calibrated in thousandths of a mm, I'm not an expert. However, it costs 45 quid to adjust.

Was it 4 wheel alignment machine ? Ie "Geo" ? ,, lots of variables with geo tbh ,, machines are usually all good but input settings can vary and some people claim better results on handling and tyre wear by using tweaked settings rather then manufacturer settings ,,, a good geo setup can transform a car

Depending on your setup you might not get the adjustment for all parts. Camber caster etc
Have to say of never trust kwik fit to sort my alignment.
Mine has previously been done by a motorpsort company who specialise in wrc cars and is off to chevron for some more parts and a new setup. I already know it will come back as a totally different car it can change it that much.

I had one done on the old impreza,
what you get is a nominal value and a range
as long as the values are in the ranges specified then the setup is supposed to be correct.
When i find my glasses lol, ill post up the values

wheel alignment equipment is only as good as the person using it, if they know what they are doing it will be top job, if they haven't a clue they will just fudge it to give the correct readings.

Depends on what need adjust, most cars can only have the tracking adjusted on the front so really its idiot proof.....if something else is out where adjusting the steering arm length can't fix, it needs a part to be replaced.
But there are exceptions; say PQ35 platform (and onwards) VAG (Golf, Leon, A3 etc), these do have adjustable caster and camber.....BUT its adjusted by moving the entire front subframe. They should also have the bolts replaced too (if they are the tapered shank versions) - this is whare a bit of skill is required as it can make all the difference. I'd hazard a guess that a kwik fit place wouldn't bother to go as far as correcting subframe alignment.
