Cool The police in St Lois really do like shooting people!

As if shooting one young black wasn't enough, they have now done this. (Warning, although filmed from about 30 feet and not so graphic, it is still quite shocking)

OK, the guy has a knife and is yelling "shoot me!", but from exiting the car to killing him in 15 seconds? Haven't they heard of tasers or shoot him the leg?

Quite shocking as I honestly don't think it needed both Officers to unload their mags into him. Maybe 2 warning shots directed at his feet and if he continued to come forward then taser the guy? He didn't seem to be wielding a gun or ready to fire anything back.

both the Egyptians and Iranians have called for the US police to exercise restraint in how they are handling the protest and there blatant intimidation of the press

Cool

So not this then which was a shooting on 19th August? This is a subsequent shooting of a black youth, since Brown was killed.

I just assumed you were actually talking about the subject in hand

It's no secret the Obama administration want to ban guns, blaming recent high profile shootings. The peoples right and 2nd amendment to own arms for self defence.
With a military police state and no arms to defend themselves and their families the people would have no chance.
Total control.

You've lost plot completely once everyone is armed

- These police appear to have been trigger happy, that's the point

That video is un-f***ing-believable.

What, 7 or 8 rounds fired at a man with a knife? A few while he was on the ground. Shoot to kill. He needed sectioning not murdering.

With that kind of policing going on I'm surprised the Ferguson uprising has taken as long as it has.

surely a few shots to the legs or thighs incapacitates someone enough? whats he going to do after that? crawl aggresively at them?

Deserved what he got, and of course they would have never shot a white guy coming at them wielding a knife shouting shot me, for all they knew he was high as a kite and a taser won't stop him nor will a couple of rounds, as for shooting in the legs load of crap they are trained for body mass end of so they don't miss.

Agreed, there's something fundamentally wrong when the polices standard solution to a problem is 'shoot to kill'.

Don't be absurd, they over reacted

And just try and alleviate some blame they've actually handcuffed after he's dead.

Every but everyone in the states know the cops carry guns and will use them it's a state of mind they are brought up with, in the past cops have shot people that are high and they believed where dead only for them to get back up and attack the police, me I'd slap the cuffs on if he's dead then it's not going to affect him.

Fear of the police (not respect, fear). Not a very healthy approach to policing (see Ferguson).

Is it fear I don't know when I lived there it was respect by me and most of the people I knew black or white had respect for them, of course the odd few thought they we're complete dicks as is the norm world over, the states is difficult though as the right to bare arms is a huge issue, sure the police have over reacted in the past and will do in the future but and it's a big BUT if you gave them respect then things like this wouldn't happen.

No I'm not saying there all perfect but the vast majority go through **** keyboard warriors have no idea about on a daily basis sadly.

If he wasn't high then he knew exactly what he was doing and was well aware of what the outcome could be, he made a choice and paid the price for it.

So if they didn't have guns you'd have less respect for them?

Cool

Some more
of US police over-reacting.

Makes you realise how lucky we are with our police force. Not perfect, but compared to this lot.........

so a guy comes at you with a knife, what do you do? i bet 99% of people would respond in a similar fasion.

Did the police need to fire 8 rounds? prob not, but can you blame them? guy had been told repeatedly to stop and wasn't complying and still approaching them, had they not fired and they had been stabbed people would be reply 'should have shot him'.

dammed if you do dammed if you dont

I agree, the issue is not that they shot him, but I believe 12 shots were fired, some whilst he was on the ground, obviously incapacitated. He had a knife, not a gun, so it's not like he could get a round off from the ground.

It shows lack of assessment, lack of control, lack of training, and after the event lack of pretty much anything except trying to cover their *****.
