Following on from the other dog thread, when will people learn??!? There are 40+ other dog breeds that are better looking, better natured etc than a pitbull/staffy .

Pit bulls and staffies are very nice dogs and very good natured, it's the idiots that own them that are the problem.

I think there should be a licensing system for dog ownership, whereby both the dog and owner should be made to undergo training, practical and theory, so that everyone has an understanding of dogs. The biggest problem in my eyes is people humanising dogs, a total lack of basic training and understanding of canine behaviour.

Wouldn't it raise suspicion about the temperament on the dog when you inherited from you grand father with a name like "Stiches" ??
