Default Selling private plate?

Just a quick question regarding selling a private plate too a company called plates4less. Is it normal practise to just sign over the v778 and enter into signed contract, it all looks legit enough just feel nervous about signing over plate with no funds to be seen for a few good weeks.

looks like ebay/autotrader setup for registration plates. If you feel nervous look elsewhere

why would you sign them over without the money? wouldn't you agree to sign on a sale.

It does state on the contract too selling the plate on my behalf for the sum we agreed on. It seems legit as if it was the other way around I could receive the funds then bugger of with the money

DON'T DO IT, what they do is take ownership of your plate and then you have to wait until they can sell the plate. This could take ANY amount of time and may even be in the years, they will not sell it at a nice cheap price for a quick sale, they will try to get a decent amount. This doesn't mean you will get a good price, you will just get a cut of the amount with them taking their bit for advertising, don't do it, they will have you by the *****.

And I guess you would have to pay for the retention of it during the time they are trying to sell it for you, unless you are allowed to keep it on your current car ???
