I shot her anyway

This guy chased down a burglar, she pleaded for her life and he shot her dead.
Was he in the right?

Ordinarily I'd say no, but the guy is 80 and he's been robbed twice before and they broke his collar bone during the process, so they're obviously low life scum without whom the world is a better place.
As for her being pregnant, If she's not going to consider her unborn child why should anyone else?
At the beginning of writing this post I was going to say I'd have shot her in the *** or legs but America being the way it is, I think killing her was the way to go as there will be no damages or paying for her crippled *** to be dragged around for the next 40yrs.
I have no sympathy for people who go out and commit crimes against a person.
As for her being pregnant, If she's not going to consider her unborn child why should anyone else?

So basically he shot a woman (albeit one who tried to rob him) in the back twice after the appearance of the gun had served its purpose (i.e. self defence) in neutralising the threat by making the culprits retreat.
We're not talking about self-defence here (had they stood their ground or continued their criminal actions and got shot, I would have said "tough *******"). We're talking about retribution and as sympathetic as we might be to the old fella, we can't have citizens unilaterally handing out death penalties for robbery!
