Small claims court
As above title, has anyone experience in going down this route? Basically I've got a customer who owes me a very small sum of money, and point blank refuses to pay. Endless phone calls, emails etc. like I say, it's pittance what they owe me, but it's principle more than anything else. I have the email trail that proves they asked for the design to be created, but the accounts say they will not pay due to the design being done. Basically I Want to know is a) what hassle is involved, and b) what sort of costs, and who pays what?

Sorry, on my iPhone. Accounts said they will not pay as the design was not ordered. I have the proof on email that they asked me to create it.

I'm sure if the court rules in your favor (which they probably will if the other party doesn't turn up) and they then refuse to pay, you can use county court sheriffs to get the money for you. They have more power than bailiffs and can even force entry if needed.
I guess it all depends on how far you want to take it.
