I see he's gone for the usual defence...'media slur etc etc, everyone's picking on UKIP blah blah blah'
If the PM or leaders of any of the other major party's said this there'd be a sh1tstorm - so he can hardly call this one 'unfair'

He's just saying what a lot of people think, and this is why the other leaders have been quick not to call him a racist directly, as they know that if they did they'd be labelling an awful lot of the electorate as racist too.
He's not P.C. and people like that about him.

If a "group" of ten or more next door to me...I'd move out. So yes, I would be conerned.
Hell, even five semi-christians next door to me was enough to make me move
All I know is the Romania should not be part of the EU and should not be allowed free migration to the UK. Its ophanages, a plight back '90s is just swept under the carpet and all forgotten. I know as I help out a charity worker who deals with them and homeless mothers (who are often rape victims)- He can't accept donation money, as it'll get stolen or taken as bribes. He can't take goods of value (white goods, electricals) as again they'll get taken. So the only thing he takes is clothes and blankets, and even then they get stolen. Its a corrupt, partly lawless, third world country masquerading as a first world EU state.
We need to monitor those who arrive here. Some will be good, some won't.

Apart from those hidebound by Socialist principles, we'd all complain if somebody moved in next door that we didn't like the sound of. Like it or not, it's human nature.
Consider this. You are living somewhere in the bush with your family when a new tribe show up. Are they a threat or aren't they? Do you welcome them in, knowing they might slit your throats, or do you keep them at bay, view them with suspicion if not downright hostility, keep your club and spear handy?
Why take a chance, if the survival of your group depends on it? It's the reason why we all instinctively feel that way.
I had a good example of this recently. At the corner of one of our fields we have a gateway. One evening I looked up there and saw a van parked in it. Getting closer I could see a family had set up home there, kids running around, dogs, washing line etc. Naturally I wandered over and asked "what the hell?" as it was a/ on my property, and b/ blocking a gateway! I asked if they thought it was ok to just fetch up without so much as a "by your leave". They seemed pleasant enough but were put out by my concerns.
The trouble is, they are attempting to live a lifestyle that is unsustainable in a country like this. It might be fine in Kansas, or maybe Australia, I don't know, but there isn't much of Devon that is considered "anybody's".
The kids were delightful, and I felt sympathy, although not enough to encourage them to stay. I pointed out that there were at least two "encampments" in the vicinity, although I was amazed when they said these places were already taken, despite there being enough room. It would appear that even other travellers don't like it when new travellers want to move in! We're back to the old territorial thing again already!
Thankfully, they left after I'd offered them enough time to feed their offspring and tidied up.
The point is, if they were a group of Eastern European men I would have gone over there mob handed, the threat level having gone up somewhat.
That's what Nigel was referring to, even if he didn't say it very well under cross examination from somebody who was determined to "get" him.

Are we on first name terms with all our politicians now?
btw the interviewer wasn't trying to 'get him', he was asking him to clarify exactly what he meant; at which point he got out his shovel and started digging

Pictorial parapraxis ^.
To be fair, I do agree that he's saying what a lot of people think. He's also saying that their criminality has a relationship with the extreme poverty in their own country, which most will agree with, I think.
However, there's something about him that I still find dodgy. It could be because of his fake bake appearance. It's my fault, really. I need to look at him with 'no prejudice' eyes.

Every political interviewer tries to "get" every interviewee, it's how the game is played, and why Paxman (Sorry, Jeremy) was paid £1m a year.

The telegraph ran the same question, and check out the best rated comments. Racist loon, wouldn't go near him? No. Overwhelming support for him from ordinary people who believe that native born people becoming an ethnic minority in their own land is a suicide note for our country. You might think uncontrolled immigration from ex communist countries is fine, but polling day will see how widely that view is held shall we?

I was very disappointed by Farage actually. We really need people like him who aren't scared to talk frankly about immigration. I'm not saying I would vote for him but I liked the fact that he was forcing the main parties to address issues that they usually shy away from. He was changing the centre ground as it were.
That comment however does him no favours other than probably attract more of the type of people he doesn't need as a serious politician.
So would I be bothered if Romanians rather than Germans moved in next to me? No is the answer. However I would be very concerned if they were Roma gypsies, that in itself might make me racist I suppose but that's how it is.
Romanians and Roma gypsies are of course not the same thing.
As for Bulgarians? I have a group of them renting one of my properties. Lovely people, rent always paid on time, property is super clean and as a brucey bonus the wimmins are fit and always wearing tight low hanging jeans when I go around

Martin: the three biggest parties are so scared of UKIP that they have got together to organise a smear campaign instead of arguing the points. The basis of the campaign is to label UKIP as racist.
I'm not surprised to see you as one of the first to be taken in...........
The odious Jacquie smith refused point blank to have anything to do with it, saying, "Have we learned nothing from Bigot-gate?"
Farage just says what millions in the UK think..... but daren't say due to Lying Labour laws.

Food for thought - the BNP vote will be decimated at this weeks elections, fancy guessing were the racist and zenophobe vote is going this time?

[quote=Martin2005;11431812]Warren - as an UKIP activist, would you like to bring the ladies and gentlemen of SN up to speed with how many of the supposed 'hundreds of thousands' of Romanians and Bulgarians have actually arrived upon our shores since the immigration controls from those countries were relaxed?

It's such a brilliantly orchestrated 'smear campaign' too isn't it; somebody asks 'Nigel' a question and he says something stupid - you have to hand it to the other parties - I didn't know they were so clever

Why are people on here so afraid of UKIP getting some proper scrutiny?
Oh and btw Warren loves to dish out the UKIP rhetoric - let him come back to me on it - he doesn't need a wing-man
Good article this http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/da...-he-was-wrong/
Ask a really good question too... 'will the 'straight talking', 'refreshing honest' Nigel Farage come out and accept he was wrong'...I expect not.
