What is the point of voting?
I'm well aware that folks died to give us the right but whoever we vote in never seems to benefit the normal man on the street.
They all make ludicrous policies to attract votes that never see the light of day.
Say one thing do another and seem to have nothing in common with real people.
Is it just me?

I vote because brave souls died to allow me the chance to do that.
I have, sometimes, voided my ballot paper as I didn't agree with any of the options - this is a cowards way out, I hold my hand up to that.
But it is far more spineless to not even bother doing anything at all ....... it should be compulsory to vote, in my opinion.
Even prisoners demand the RIGHT to vote - that's how valuable it is seen to be if it's removed from you.

I'm not complaining about who gets in as none of them make a difference in my eyes.
I will be voting I just find it a road to nowhere and only do it as a mark of respect for the one's that died to give me the right.

It should only be compulsory if there's a non-of-the-above option.
I always vote, but I don't really know why I do, just an automatic thing.
What happens at the ballot box for most people has little impact on the outcome, and the outcome matters far less than their manifestos would have you believe, they are all much of a muchness.
I may vote UKIP, just for a laugh.
Seriously, what is the point of voting for the two (not three ) main parties any more?

If you don't vote, at least you can say you didn't help elect whichever party is ruining the countries finances at the time.
As far as I'm aware, cabinet ministers don't need any qualifications to run the country, maybe that's why they are so rubbish at it.
The self serving money grabbers are only in it to line their own pockets.

The 'none of the above' option is a reasonable option as gives people a potential protest vote that actually means something.
