Phil,

m8 ... how much not to post the numbers !!!

Only joking wouldn't dare

put in to context. They are either under or others r over not sure.

when I went with just the bb and filter change I got

220 bhp with 210 torque

but scooberators got 310ish bhp !!!

Could be that they are not consistent.

Perhaps we need to find another close rr and try them !

or I'll meet you on the circuit and we can see how quick both cars are !!!

what did the other MY00's (teded & tonyg) get ?

Dave

Question

At least I now know what I've got to work with - they did say that mine was running richer than any Scooby they've seen up there so far, which is what was contributing to the lower power, and the less than flat torque curve at higher revs. Time for a bit of tweaking methinks - either a) go to dealers and get them to lean off the mixture a bit or b) fit new freeflow filter and exhaust to take advantage of the extra fuel... hmmm...what to do...
In case any of you who were there were wondering where I disappeared to as we were leaving Chesterfield, I went home down the back roads (rather than the M1) to help get rid of the depression - and it worked! Not much beats a bit of a B-road blast to make you realise why you bought it in the first place.

tony! lol
a bit rich...so they say!!
we had only one run each!
if the rollers were slipping n the tyres that would give us bad figures!
why could we not had best of 3 runs and get some ppl ti sit in the boot...like other places do....toget the extra traction!!
i think the bhp figures are about 15bhp (7%) down!!

still not convinsed they hav there rollers right!

Not convinced they are getting that right...

But I do know of another way to getting better mpg now ! up from avg 19 to 23

Dave.

Tony,

When I had mine tested at John Nobles in December I got 280 bhp and only 208 lbs of torque......then they told me it was really badly overfueling. So I took it to TSL to have it checked out. They put it on the Select Monitor and there was nothing wrong with it - all the readings were as they should be. I know who'd I'd rather listen to....

I have to say, the BHP figures don't seem that far out to me, although the torque figures looked a bit low.
I wasn't too impressed that the *very* young lads working on the rollers were getting in the cars wearing grubby overalls without putting any covers on the seats!
Can't say I'd trust my scoob on their rollers myself, to be honest.

You guys should just accept the figures

Unfortunately I couldn't make it as I was on callout! I've seen TonyG's figures and can't believe they're that low! On the road, there is nothing in it between his MY00 & my (heavier) MY01 which has 248BHP & 248lbf-ft @ 5850RPM, measured at Well-Lane Turbo centre.

TonyG's maxed out at 120MPH @ 6710RPM in 4th gear. This equates to 17.8 MPH per 1000RPM - shouldn't this be something like 20/21MPH per 1000 RPM which would give approx 140MPH? Mine maxed out at 137MPH @ 6700RPM which is 20.4 MPH per 1000 RPM. This indicates that you were having traction problems and need to increase your figures by 10 to 11% (225+ BHP sounds more like it).

You should have sat 3 people in the back, mind you, I don't fancy risking sitting in a motionless car doing 140+ MPH and it suddenly jumping out the rollers - the front securing strap came off my car (good job it was at low speed!!!!!).

Incidentally, why does the graph's Y-axis go up in 17.5 increments instead of 10????
