The reason I am asking is I have 2.5 sti that may be over fueling, black specals on car
from pipe. I am also thinking about fitting the prodrive cats too.

Could you post a photo?

It may just be a bit of water thats got in ... or a bit of spray off the road that has entered the exhaust and been blasted over the back when you revved it?

What mods have you fitted?

Im having the re-map thursday because my car is running a bit lean and once i put this decat up-pipe on, it will certainly need mapping

i have been told the car should pass the emissons test with just one cat on .... hopefully

ive used open mapping and can not fault them,i have a 2001 wrx with a decat down pipe and decat center section and an induction kit, they did me a stage 2 map and talked me all the way through it and made it easier to understand, the drive home was like driving a totaly different car, performance, acceleration and fuel was by far alot better and noticeable, they then sent me to Andy Carr for a custom tweak some time later and im now pushing 270bhp,i know alot of people that have had there scoobs done by these chaps and recommend them highly,im paying them another visit soon to have a few more bits done and launch control...if you have any queries or questions just phone or email them,i did,and they will put you right.....

I can vouch for Andrew Carrs work too, he reflashed my Ecutek'd Sti.
Funny thing was my battery died and we tried in vane to jump her
but in the end Andrew had to hitch a lift back to his car about 2 miles
down a busy A road in Stoke to get the booster pack.
Top Bloke.

The black specals appear after everytime I clean the car and then go for a little blast. The specals are not wet like oul or water etc, they are dry.

I dont think its to much to worry about tbh .... just some soot in your exhaust ... take it down to the rolling road and they can check to see what your fuelling is like.
