Mapping day,anyone interested
I have contacted Andrew Carr who is a mapper widely known in the North West, he specialising in all mapping but i was particularly interested in his 'open source' mapping (mapping that isn't locked by ecuTEK).
I have been speaking to him for some time and i have asked him if he would be interested in coming to the midlands to do some cars on the bulk basis and in principle he is.
If you want any references go onto the
LADS - of which he is a founder member
LADS :: Index of which he is a founder member
and
Cumbrian Scoobs
www.CumbrianScoobs.co.uk - website of the Subaru in Cumbria
his user name is AndrewC on both
He mostly gets his work through referrals (of which i am one of them) but mostly gets his referrals from companies in the NW who have known him for several years, these include: ScoobyTeknix, CotComp, AdgeSpeed and ProSport, he has been mapping Subaru’s (and Evo's) for about 6 years, commercially for about 3 and is currently mapping over 4-7 mapped cars per week.
Although i am interested in him doing my openECU (for the second time) he also regularly maps the below ECU's:
OpenEcu (MY01-09 Impreza/Legacy/Forester, Evo V-IX)
Ecutek (MY99/00 and later cars which have already have an Ecutek license by arrangement)
Simtek (MY92-05) Authorised dealer
ESL (MY92-96) Authorised dealer
PowerFC (MY92-00, plus Evo4-6)
GEMS
Link (Possum Link, G2, G3, G4)
Autronic
Motec
It should be noted that this is not rolling road mapping but real environment mapping, i think you know what i mean.....
4 cars is about the maximum that can be done in a day, but if there is enough interest it might be possible to get him down again.
Like i mentioned before this will be my second map with Andrew but i also know of other people on this forum who has used his skills too
Prices vary, but as a rule of thumb its £300 for a full (from scratch map) and around £150 for a tweak.
This is purely to determine interest and is not committal, let me know via a PM
this would take place in the Nottingham/derby area

After talking to rewindnottm and Andrew I'm looking to take Andrew up on his offer!
Andrew's prices are:
For 1 car map session using open source = £300+his fuel costs.
For 2 cars £300 each, fuel free.
For 3 cars £270, fuel free.
(each map takes 3 hours approx)
I'm located in solihull, but frequently travel to north brum (around J6 M6).
Anyone interertsed in joining me for a discount?
Hal
