I was really shocked to hear this earlier, and can't stop thinking about it. Barry is a top bloke with a real passion for anything with an engine. I hope the recovery he makes is a speedy one. Its hard to imagine that just a few days ago he was over there with all of us - being excited practically the whole weekend, and then looking forward to going abroad the following week with his dad on their bikes to Assen - and then this happens.
When we were coming back we were having a joke competition over the CB's and Barry told the funniest joke I have heard in a long time (but it's not repeatable on her) so to the people who never came back on the croosing we were on I'll tell you on Sunday.

OMG. Just read this post. Me and Gary were just sat here talking about the weekend when I found this.
Our thought are with him and his family. Dont know what else to say, he's a top bloke who is so passionate when it came to cars and bikes, had some good chats and laughs with somebody I had never met before. Hope he gets well soon.

Really shocked when we heard this on Tuesday, send our best wishes to Baz & wish him a speedy recovery from us.
Think the card & collection is an excellent idea, he will need all the support & encouragement he can get.
Have you heard any more news on how he is?
Craig & Yvonne.

Have just spoken to Tim and Barry is a little more bumped than they 1st thought. I wont go into details on here but the last thing he remembers is having a good time at Le-Mans good lad, keeping his spirits up.
Tim is picking up a card tommorow for us all to send Barry are thoughts and best wishes and will bring it to the QE on Sunday, we discussed meeting at the usual sunday meeting time of 7ish, hope this is ok for everybody.

No probs, not sure how they'd print though as they are scaled down and less than half the original size. If you haven't printed them yet let me know which ones and I'll print them.
Good to hear about Barry making progress!

There were quite a few. I ended up getting two prints to one 6x4 sheet so they are small. I got them done in a photo shop, if you could mail me the full size images I could get them done tomorrow.
These ones adandkd/Le Mans - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

He's making a really good and speedy recovery. He had a few more injuries than we all knew about (broken ribs, collar bone and a fracture in his skull) which are healing along with the other breakages, and his right arm is going to be OK although he might need plastic surgery on it once the skin has recovered from the burn which looks worse than it is according to the doctors (it looks minging)
We gave him the photo album and his new t-shirt which went down well. He has been overwhelmed by the amount of well wishers that have sent him cards and gifts - some of who he hasn't even met, but they have heard about his accident through a family member!
One thing that stuck in my mind was Barry saying that although he hadn't met most of us before going to Le Mans it didn't take him long to feel like one of the gang, and that he had an absolute blast whilst there!
With any luck he should be a bit mobile within a few weeks although they have told him that he will not be able to weight bear on one of his legs for some time yet, so he has a wheel chair to get about in once he's allowed up (he did say he would only be able to get it to go round in circles though unless someone pushed it for him )
