Hi Si

Welcome to the wonderful world of scooby meets. Warning! These are not Max Power type meets! but a bunch of like minded friendly Scooby and performance car owners who get together over a beer .

Venue Requirements

1. A pub.
2. A pub that is open on the above dates and time.
3. A pub that serves beer.
4. A pub with a large car park.
5. A pub that the landlord doesnt mind 20 or so extra cars in his car park.
6. A pub that is easy to find.

Thats the general idea .

Davyboy though the last venue was ideal we are rotating venues to enable people who live further away a chance to take part in a meet. e.g. At the Rugby meet we lost some lads from the Birmingham area due to the distance but gained some Northampton interest. Though we had very keen people as far as Leicester and Doncaster on the Rugby meet (cheers guys). Dont worry we will be back there again soon.

If you know of a northern Coventry venue add a post .

Cheers

Neal

Hi all, Tony and myself have also come up with the Griff house hotel which is situated at the junc of A444 and the B4113 to Bedworth and its easy to find, we also thought because it is the last one of 2001 we could do a short drive to another pub, we have a route to do which is not to long around country side, i also think 2nd Dec is the best date because of the Network Q. Lets see what the feeling is then, to drive, or not ot drive.I am also away to sunny Blackpool for a couple of days so i will look back on here Sunday night cheers Andy.May i suggest a 1.30 start.

Right Guys and Gals now Donington is out the way its time to organise the next Coventry area meet .

We have had 3 great turn outs so far with around 20 cars at each meet so lets make this one another good one.

LOCATION

We have now covered east, south and west of Coventry, now there is only the north left. Anybody got any ideas of a location ???? Someone was talking about Combe Abbey at the last meet.
Your suggestions please !

DATE

Either Sunday 25th of November or Sunday 2nd of December. This should be the last meet of the year as I dont fancy seeing everyone turn up with their Xmas jumpers and socks .
Your suggestions again please!

Time

Lets say 2pm again give everybody time to get up and recover from the Saturday night out hangover.

So guys and gals your comments please.

Cheers

Neal

If we have it in the same place, we can get the Northampton massive there! That had a nice big car park too.

Hey there people, i'm all excited now as i've got my freshly purchased scooby & i'm gagging 2 check out all the other tasty motors.
NB i work in Coventry & live 8 miles North in a town called Nuneaton which might be suitable for a get together, but if not being a local type maybe able to kum up with sumin. Depends really, what exactly r the requirements 4 a good location then & i shall put my mind to it?
I now await more info with an eager sense of anticipation
Tata 4 now.

Neal,

I'll travel anywhere within a 500 mile radius of Coventry! LOL If we go north og Coventry, we're heading towards the Belfry and Bassetts Pole area. Bassetts has a big Pub just off the A38 roundabout and also a McDonalds. Would probably be too far for the Northampton peeps, but is only about 10 miles from Cov.

See you soon

Bassets pole is good although sumwot further than 10 miles as its north east Birmingham init. However there is the fantastic National paintball field there as well & that is fun but that's another meet altogether
I shall put my mind 2 a good location then although only time i spend in pub car parks is usually 2 enpty stomach contents so can't think of any gr8 uns off hand! lol

Coombe Abbey is good and has a massive car park, so no problems like we had at the Northampton meet. It is easy to get to from the M6/M69. (I.e. very easy for me in Hinckley!!!)

What do ya'll think?

Nice try Andy

I am thinking Nuneaton way as it has easy access via M6 and M69. Bassets pole again I think is a little far (good venue though). Coombe is good and is North of me and it sounds good but we shall keep that as a last resort. Any more suggestions keep them comming. Whats happened with the boys from Nuneaton havnt they got any ideas??????

Cheers

Question

Anyone know whether the Pretty Pigs just South of Tamworth is still OK?

We finished a Midlands Meet there a year of so ago. Huge car park, food etc.

Easy access from A5, M42 etc.

Any Tammy locals want to comment?

Hi Si

I thought about the cinema but I am not sure if you can take the drinks out of the pub and into the car park. Anybody know ????? Time to investigate, it would be rude not too.
Also great size car park but you may find we might have to park a distance away from the pub to park together. But then again at 2pm who goes to the cinema?????

Cheers

I'll check it out this sunday Although there's a bar right by the cinema & 1 up by Makky D's both with reasonable car parks although as u say investigation is needed as 2 whether they allow external drinking? Been a while since i went there last anyway but that was the case last i new but as i shall i shall look in2 it

Coombe Abbey sounds good to me, I have a vague idea where that is, not too far a trek from Northampton either.

I know you said North of Cov or Nuneaton, but the Milestone at Hinckley has quite a large parking area due to the fact it is right by a Halfords/Focus DIY, (I know, sounds really romantic!)

Easy to get to and large car park?? Not Cov I know, but worth a try! Plus, back to mine for some more beers if you're up for it!!!

See ya

Hi Peeps.
I'm back online now so will bring CK1 along too.
Anywhere is fine by me, but Rugby might be a good future venue?

No probs thou i'll check out the boozers & parking this sunday at the ole cinema malarky but even with those young Harry Potter luvers around this weekend i'm confident there will be ample parking as i just drove thru there on way back from work & there are loads of sizable car parks so i reckon only potential stumbling block wood b whether the pubs will allow drinking in car parks, although i must say i ain't guna partake in any drinking anyhow as if i drink it's 2 get wasted & that aint happening when i'm behind the wheel of my baby But i shall inquire this weekend anyhow
