Who's coming to Dono on the 19th? I have phoned and there are loads of places left! There are already quite a few scoobs going so it would be even better to get a load more unlike last time!
So come on people, lets make this one a ood one as John F will be there again trying to take the honours for himself!

Anymore takers as the time is getting near, according to Joe at Dono Booking, we will more than likely have the track to ourselves except for a few bikes! But the Bikes will be in thier own session.

shaun, if you cant hit 112 MPH at donno then you are a *****.
I was taking craner faster than that in a UK 5 door on 15" wheels on the last SIDC day!
You should see at least 125MPH on the back straight, even on standard brakes. So get that bloody limiter off, pronto!
Watch your mirrors mate, i will be doing over 140MPH down the back straight.

I'll be there. Not on track myself but will be coming with someone who is going to have a go. We understand there will be no tyre change facilities there, is this correct? If so what do you do if you haven't a spare set of rims? Are there facilities nearby that you use?

Otis,
Unfortunately there will be no tyre guys there! If you need some tyres cheap and pronto, call Tyres Northampton. There will not be enough Scoobies there for them to make it worthwhile, most of us will be using part worns and maybe a spare set of pads.

Otis,
Sorry, cannot help with the tyre change, maybe someone local to Donington can help ?
John, Harj,
All set for the video session, but still trying to source a throat mike for John to do commentary. May have to use a different mike but should still work if out of direct wind flow. Very easy in Harj's Scooby, has a proper roof and doors and windscreen etc
Cheers

just got back in from donno.
Really hot day, i am burning up now, ouch!
Great bunch of scoobynet guys as usual, big thanks to Rob Mac for showing me how to get more speed out of myself with some very simple advice, just wish i had had you out with me earlier.
Managed to silence harj for a full 5 seconds after he got out of my car, think he thought it was quick.
A couple of lister storm GT cars turned up and were out on track with us for a session, i would have kicked there *** but my car was running hot so i had to back off a bit
Had fun making the porche GT3's look slow and should have some good footage on video passing cars galore.
Shame about the EVO that had a huge accident at the bottom of craner curves, the driver has a broken leg, broken ribs and collar bone and a totalled EVO, suffered brake failure acording to his mate, he is badly bashed up but lives to fight another day, which is some good news to come out of a very nasty incedent.
My brake and suspension upgrades are working realy well, just need to get my cooling sorted and concentrate on what Rob was telling me and the little beasty should be really flying.
Thanks to watty, Ian Grat(get to bed ian ya loon), chris, S de B, Mark, John, Harj and bro for making it a top day again.
Harj's face when he got out of the westie made my day, well funny.

Yeah Top Day!
My First track day and I have to say I enjoyed it more than I expected.
Dono is a challenging track to drive on the limit (something I didn't get close to).
But as john says, its always nice to humiliate porches
Harj and I had a bloody good play until the EVO went off in front of us (hope he recovers quickly).
Johns car is blisteringly quick. Shame about the overheating thing...
Funniest story of the day...
Tiffany Dell (in the Lister Storm Race Car) overtook John and I then got caught up in traffic ahead of us. So John went stright up behind him and started flashing him to say "YOU'RE HOLDING ME UP!! GET OUT OF THE WAY!" LOL
Good fun
Regards
Simon
PS - John - thanks for talking me into it

What a great day (well, morning for me ). It was good to see Johns beast, even though I missed it flying round the track. Also good to see the rest of the guys (even Harj, and Shaun ).
The Lister Storms were awsome, and Bl*ody loud. Most impressive car had to be the race prep'ed Integra R. The driver, old enough to be my dad (now that's old) was superb. Taking Craner at about 135mph, and almost certainly the quickest laps on the day.
Porsche GT drivers must be the most selfish, arrogant people on the track (wild sweeping statement). They just don't like to move over. Finally got past them, and didn't see them again.
Discovered that my disks, and slick gave up the ghost, due to coming in, and going straight out again, causing massive heat build up. Never seen a tyre SO distorted. It was almost worth it, just to hear Shaun say Possum Linked cars weren't that bad after all .
Can't wait for the next one.
Mark.

What a cooking day that was! Total scorcher - the metal pit lane wall was too hot to touch. Factor 25 sun cream rocks!
Damn, those Listers were LOUD! A couple of pro Bike teams there as well lapping with the Listers when the track shut for lunch.
I clocked one of the Listers lapping in 1min 10secs.
First time out with Simon, what superb car control. Usual (!) neck snapping power in the Felstead Turbo Nutter (TM).
Poor bugger in the Evo, just hope he gets sorted out soon.
Nice to see Mr. Gratton has his priorities right!
Shame I had to get the 7.10am train to London this morning.
Chris.

IW, are you sure this was filmed backwards, and not being played backwards.
The film shows John overtaking a 911. I have recently learnt 911's are the finest cars, driven by the finest drivers out there, so I feel this film must have been doctored.
Nice one folks, looked like more fun than the office yesterday.

Excellent day all round, SDB and myself were just getting warmed up when the EVO crash happened infront of us, hope he gets well soon. never gonna mock Johns car again as it was blistering quick all over the circuit, but I will keep mocking John .
Completely killed the SO2's as I drove home with slicks and the brakes, even the cossies were a little off the pace, nothing new though!
"Porches" what are they, oh yeah those things we kept lapping

Hi All,
Top day, oh yes ! Was bit on the wame side though Thanks to John F for the laps and use of his car for filming purposes.
Listers were lapping in the 1:10 - 1:15 area, quite quick me thinks.
First captured video of the day is now available. It is a flying lap of Dono filmed facing backwards from John F's Westie.

BRAKE FAILURE???
If he was braking halfway down Craner he deserved to go off!!!
From what I saw at the scene, he merely lifted off going around the left-hand part of the corner and speared left into the wall head on.
A Scooby is capable of 125MPH+ down there, and so I expect him to have been going nearly as fast 'cos he has been to Donno a few times before. The car didn't slow down THAT much before it slammed into the tyre wall, ripping nearly 30ft. of it apart!!
The guy simply made a mistake... he's EXTREMELY lucky not to have been killed.
Rob.
