But she will assist in the bacon sarnie making!!!!
Please help charlie whiskey with his route.
And please only post here if you are coming!!! cheers-J1mb0

Cheers J1mbo!
After some Scooby Snacks I reckon we should have time for about an hours worth of North Leicestershires finest tarmac, maybe a few slips ov't'border to the potholes of Derbyshire as well, returning to Dave's in time for a spot of lunch
Post your requests here and we will try to include them!
Does anyone know what is on a Donnington that day, for traffic levels?
Chris

Route is coming along nicely
Mix of curves and l-o-n-g l-o-n-g straights.
Don't know how it will measure up against todays Tamworth run though as I couldn't make it
Is it really only 13 days to go?

quote:
Come off the A42 at the 'Coalville A5??/Ashby NORTH/Loughborough A512' junction, then take first left off the roundabout towards Ashby.
200yds later there is another roundabout, turn right (onto what used to be the A453) now signposted Melbourne B537 & Lount
You then go round a long sweeping left hander before curving right onto a long downhill straight.
The Ferrers Arms is at the bottom of the hill on the left.

I'm sure anyone is welcome to join in. We did most of the run last night in a Boxster, following Charlie Whisky. Interesting comparison, new 2.7 versus MY97 5dr. Needed plenty of concentration just to keep up. What are you bringing along?
It's a good route - just hope the traffic's light on the day.

Keith: Perhaps we ought to do the route during the England v Germany Match
It was a pleasure being able to do some of those roads with hardly any traffic. I'm sure it will be much busier on a Saturday morning.
Anyone is welcome, as long as we get a good idea of how many are coming so Dave has an idea of how many Bacon Sarnies to provide.
From previous threads the following are already accounted for;
Me
j1mbo
Waysiders
igratton
Akira
Scheuy
jase cooper
Etheridge-Bird
Richard Gledhill
Craig H (in what?)
Unconfirmed
ChrisP (lunch only?) We may need an official photographer - Are you binging your camera?
RobMac (Got your new Scooby yet?)
Anyone else please confirm by posting to this thread if you are coming.
j1mbo: Small World: Dave turns out to be my old mates Brother in Law! Hope the above gives Dave a better idea how many to expect.

I assumed he knew he was coming J1mbo
Kev may come along as well, he has given me some advice on the route & notes from Sundays run to work from.
Some minor alterations to the route being receed this week - hopefully to make it safer and more scenic without affecting the grin factor
Route will be about 1 to 1.5 hours, so back in time for lunch
chrisp, may have a site or two you could photo - interested?

I'll be "Johnny no-friends" and not have a passenger... could I borrow someone spare on the day to read the directions?
If not I'll just have to keep up with the person in front

You should be able to keep up, directions will be breif and to the point, more in depth if you get lost.
You could always follow me, I'm not that fast

j1mbo Same applies though. If it's anything like the Tamworth meet last weekend I should be ok, just thought I'd let people know there's a co-driver seat there if anyone wants it.
See ya Saturday!

RobMac:
Sorry you can't make it.
Any idea whats on at Donno on Saturday?
Route is now complete, just under 50 miles and about 1.25 to 1.5 hours dependant on traffic and stops - Currently trying to negotiate a decent mid-point re-group location.
Got pulled by Leicestershire Constabulary today, not on the recee but in Swithland ( £!,!!!,!!!).
All very nice, done nowt wrong, just checking it's yours etc. but did warn of all the tourist traffic in the area, bikes etc, (after I had booted it out of a 30). - 'so be considerate'.
Let's just hope the weather is not quite so brilliant on Saturday

Just a quickie to confirm I'm coming on Saturday (looking forward to it), though it'll be an early start from Cambridge to be there for breakfast!
The postcode is LE65 1SD in case anyone wants to put it in a route finder.
See you all there!
Richard
ps I originally had a link to a map of where we are but couldn't get it to work for some reason. Now I can't delete this rather pointless post... sorry!

Half way re-group point now arranged, large car park to a hotel, usually fairly empty at weekends.
Richard; The notes will be very similar to Tamworth as Kev sent me a copy of his to work from. Basically Tulip diagrams of juctions, mileages, some hazards, breif directions etc. with important stuff like LEFT/RIGHT in bold and a colour map of the route.

Chris ...
I'm not gonna be able to make it this Sat I'm afraid, got to work as we are sooooo far behind at work ( might have something to do with this BBS ). Sounds like you have it sorted, colour map and all !!
Hope you have a brill day and it all works out, I'll have to make the next one .... I'm sure one of us will get another one together locally.
